How it all got started...

I grew up in a creative and textile-rich environment. My mother had a sewing business when I was young, and I was deeply influenced by her love of textiles and clothing. From early childhood, I had a love of the process, always wanting to get involved in one way or another. I loved the feel of the various fabrics and notions and was delighted by the creative process of making a totally unique garment.

Much later in life, I discovered ceramics. It took a few years, but eventually I started to connect these two creative processes. You see, we were still making our own garments, but we were often disappointed with the selection of buttons available at many retailers. We mostly used natural fibres and wanted buttons that reflected that aesthetic. Ceramic buttons met that need!

I started creating a variety of buttons, and after two years of experimenting with different techniques, shapes, and styles, I now have a collection of work that I am proud of and want to share with you.
